trade crowden to Macrae (via spargo ddp) or value in zorko or keep ddp link and get gray/mclean?

  4. j

    May 11, 2018 at 7:19 pm

    My trades this week:
Gone Doedee + English >> Redden + Spargo.

Decided I could take a chance on Redden/Zorko this week cause I don’t have as much carnage as all my league opponents do, and it is a worthwhile high-payoff for high risk, one I’d not normally take. Redden got the nod ahead of Zorko purely for bye structure.

Got all my bench rookies playing except for RUC Cameron, have a temporarily ‘complete’ midfield (hopefully Zerrett doesn’t spud it up!), with Tim Kelly now on bench ready for the chop next week. Really hoping to improve my rank into top 400-450 by the end of this round.

    • Ben

      May 11, 2018 at 7:26 pm

That sounds quality mate, good trades! Wish I could go redden but had the cash for mclean so I played it safe with him

At the moment I’m glad I brought in Ronke last week. I call him ‘Ronkie’, but the commentators call him ‘Ronk’.

I passed on Mutch, just like I previously passed on bringing in Guelfi (Goofy), Liam Ryan and Dom Barry. That all worked well, for different reasons.

I traded JOM to Macrae and put the C on him. Happy at this point that Titch’s not my captain but remains to be seen whether Macrae will produce the goods!

      • Titan

        May 12, 2018 at 1:40 am

Macrae is now the Pig. Titch has lost the title. Glad I brought him lowish. Bout 750k. He will wind up @ hospital after the match…..bad case of leather poisoning

Next week will be time to say goodbye to O’Meara . He is just busting out rook scores now and will be a perfect upgrade to a decent premo.

    • Titan

      May 12, 2018 at 1:43 am

This week was perfect. JOM had peaked. Not losing much by trading next week. Only missed BE by 11. There is some very solid bottomed out fallen premos to trade to.

    • Titan

      May 12, 2018 at 1:48 am

I’ve got macrae (C), stef martin, neale and McLean who I’m banking on to destroy this week. I’m looking to be 8-0 this wknd in my league. And my opponent having titch as Cappo has given me a early leg up. I would say Cogs as going big, but I got a feeling hutchings will go on him. It seems the obvious choice……Carn the eagles

And it’s 2018 where you get a week for a good tackle, oh wait, that was 2017 as well…

          • JungleMuffin

            May 12, 2018 at 3:10 am

He deserves 2-3 weeks for that all day long. You can’t go past the ball like that and smash a player with his head over the ball. He’s lucky Impey came back on, or he could expect even more.

          • Alan J

            May 12, 2018 at 10:10 am

I’d say 1 with an early plea.. Others have gotten less, but this would be about right given Impey’s return..

    • andyjh

      May 11, 2018 at 10:52 pm

I agree mate. How much do you think he’ll be worth after this round?? Surely he goes up by 50k?

      • j

        May 11, 2018 at 11:00 pm

He’ll go up by around 50-60K – still worth bringing in next week, as people have brought in Spargo this week at 276K and Ronke will be at a similar price.

      • hijacker

        May 11, 2018 at 11:00 pm

He’d be going up somewhere between 50-60k I reckon (as a non-owner I reckon I’m a big chance to go Crowden > Ronke next week, which is a very sideways trade, but he’ll have a BE less than -25 I’d think)

As a Swans supporter I can confidently say I don’t care if Buddy is delisted now.

      • Alan J

        May 11, 2018 at 11:06 pm

          May 12, 2018 at 12:42 am

Could have been his 56 last week and his 56 next week……… (just dirty I haven’t got him)

          • Alan J

            May 12, 2018 at 10:11 am

56 against North is a 75 against most other teams though..

      • JungleMuffin

        May 12, 2018 at 4:19 am

70k? Would be a fitting number given his 7 goals and 10 tackles.

The best thing about it is, it’s such a huge score, he only has to bang out another 60-70 and he’ll go up another 50-60k for the next two weeks after that, which means he should be 400k+ heading into round 11 and even riper for the byes.

He’ll still be worth bringing in after lockout at 300k+, but it’ll sting, and will hurt people’s ability to upgrade to the premiums they want. Could end up having a big impact on coaches that don’t have him already.

C on Cogs instead of Titch :) My other options were Neale v St Kilda and Gawn v Suns so I’m hoping I chose correctly.

    • j

      May 11, 2018 at 11:18 pm

Neale a good chance to post 150. He seems to post at least two 150+ scores every year. Titch nearly got 150 on the saints playing 3 out of 4 tag-free quarters.

  31. gf

This is a callout to Alan J.
Wow. I mean wow. Your have the use of hindsight to question peoples call on having a rookie (ronke) on the bench. It’s called rookie roulette you hindsight guru, the bloke scored 56 last week……The fact that you hold and play like Parker. That’s enough for me to judge you. A 102 is not worth it. You hold a bloke who has is 3/8 with tons scored. On a 4 match average of 82. and dropping about 85k in the process. Don’t question other people’s methods when your are extremely flawed…..To you I would say, people are still holding Luke Parker? He’s a dud.

    • Captain

      May 12, 2018 at 2:25 am

    • Titan

      May 12, 2018 at 2:28 am

      Haha. That’s funny…..Classic hindsight guru… +1 on Parker. He’s a dud.

    • JungleMuffin

      May 12, 2018 at 3:42 am

You didn’t have to tell us you didn’t have him, that was obvious…

He’s been the best forward option available for the last 3 weeks. I actively gambled on bringing Clarke in over him 2 weeks back, who wasn’t even playing, and then last week tried my best to not get him in because I was petty about paying the extra 30k when I could have had him the week before, and still couldn’t find a way to keep him out. Ahern was the only other viable option this week, and he didn’t make the 22.

If you haven’t got him in by now then you’re doing something wrong. It’s not like there’s been a glut of rookies to chose from instead on other lines either.

    • Me Mums Me Dad

      May 12, 2018 at 10:13 am

Yeah dude Alan J is easily the worst kid running around this site. Seems like the kind of guy that can’t even kick a footy

    • Alan J

      May 12, 2018 at 10:15 am

It’s not rookie roulette dickhead.. He loves to tackle, always a good indicator of scoring potential, and he got 56 against North, a team hard to score against..

To me it was an easy decision to play him, but if you didn’t see it that way, then boo hoo to you..

I also didn’t put the C on Titch, so have a go at me about that to why don’t ya..

I couldn’t give a shit of you judge me, I feel sorry that you’ve wasted your time tbh

  35. Paul

    May 12, 2018 at 2:36 am

Don’t judge Alan to harsh. He’s giving us Saturday lotto numbers on Sunday morning. Hahaha. Rookie roulette is fun (not). I’ve got ronke. I did field him. But could of easily benched him also. It’s tough to pick right rookies. +2 on Parker Hahaha. Can’t believe that bloke has held him. A week’s holiday for Parker is just desserts in my book. Enjoy selling at low price. If he was a stock marketer. He would be broke by now lol.

    • blimp on the radar

      May 12, 2018 at 7:17 am

While I agree on the Ronke call… it was a pretty smug comment… holding Parker isn’t as ridiculous as you blokes are going on about.
Holders can upgrade around him and while he’s a crap premo, he is one extra premo in my team than all you Sideways Sams out there.
If he comes good then happy days, but if not, he’s not going to be worth any less than now anyway. In the long term my team will be better than buying someone else at their peak who could in turn crap as well. I’ll upgrade later thanks.
(Although I should have flicked Billings and Merrett owners who cut bait did the right thing too… but who knows?)

Not even bovvered with Mitchells Captain score, most people will have him as skip anyway and if you’re rotating the C when you’ve got him then you’re going to lose more than you win IMO.

Set and forget all the way!

    • andyjh

      May 12, 2018 at 9:23 am

Im with you on that one jungle. Remember a couple of weeks ago everyone put the C on Cogs & Titch went huge. We’ll still be ahead from that week..

    • j

      May 12, 2018 at 1:27 pm

Every time I’ve taken the captaincy off Titch (twice so far), it has been a better result, so it’s not necessarily true that if rotating the C one would lose more than win – you just have to be smart about it, which can mean ignoring the advice of Calvin’s Captains at times. No one should be “set and forget”, as a selecting captains is a strategic aspect to the game just like selecting players in your side (the ‘set and forget’ mentality limits playing the game more fully).

      • j

        May 12, 2018 at 1:31 pm

For disclosure, in the week Titch got his second 80 I had the C on Cognilio (for a 100+), the week after most people had the C on cogs (for his low 100) I had the C on Titch for his 150. This week, I have the C on Macrae when nearly all my league opponents have the C on Titch.

I just put on a good bet for todays games. TAB has a bet called 30 plus where you can bet on players to get more than 30 disposals. I put on a multi for Redden, Curnow, Swallow & Gibbs to all go 30 plus today. It pays $275-1 not bad for a days entertainment. I was going to throw Hunter in there aswell which would have made it $500-1 but i dont have a good feeling about that game.
