Inside the Fantasy Numbers – Round 17

Pete is back to take a look inside the fantasy numbers and another a cracking Who Am I?

As the season starts to wind for several teams that won’t play finals in 2016 so could the possibility of increased fantasy points those teams may give up. Fremantle might be one of the teams to give up plenty, in their last 3 games the Dockers have conceded an average of 1836.3pts whilst scoring just an average of 1463.0 (-373.3 Differential) which is quite alarming.

Fremantle remaining opponents:

R18 v Gold Coast MS
R19 v Sydney DS
R20 v West Coast DS
R21 v Adelaide DS
R22 v GWS Giants SPO
R23 v Western Bulldogs DS

If those numbers continue for Fremantle, it may be wise to factor trading decisions for key players from those opposing teams.

Stephen Hill

Looking at the Bulldogs final few games of 2016 it might be a good time to throw up some Etihad Stadium Stats where they play 4 of their remaining 6 games, additionally this could be good information for those considering the likes of Jason Johannisen & Matthew Boyd etc.

Don’t do it. Downgrade and spend next week. Wasting your time with those kinds of trades.

  8. John

Parker and c.smith . Free up some cash ,upgrade smith next week or week after & he has been scoring well.

Robbie or Riewolt for M8?? Thinking the flexibility of having a DPP there may be useful.

    • Tbd

      July 20, 2016 at 3:21 pm

I own both, and as a saints fan, I say go Gray.

Roo has a hurt knee and it’s slowing him down, he’s spending much more time forward, and less time running up the midfield

So many people are getting sucked in by N Roo, I’m keeping clear of him , he has only scored one 100+ in his last 4 games and he isn’t scoring anywhere near as good as he did earlier in the year.

    • Sir Relton

      July 20, 2016 at 10:53 am

He’s playing a full forward type role with the other key forwards injured.
To score high 90’s in this role shows how good he is. Only concern for him is durability, but if McCartin gets named, Roo will be back to his 15 marks a game, and his ceiling will be thoroughly tested before the end of the year.

    • Killerbees

      July 20, 2016 at 5:16 pm

There arent many forwards averaging better than him across this time, still makes sense as a pick with a mid 90s average let alone a 115 avg

Ive been an owner since he bottomed out after concussion and have zero complaints

  13. Bob

    July 20, 2016 at 11:17 am

Is it to late to get clay smith and play him on the field?

    • PowerAde

      July 20, 2016 at 5:19 pm

still cash to be made if he keeps up the average, go nuts

  14. mattyoxide

    July 20, 2016 at 11:44 am

    Boak+Burgoyne or S Hill + Hodge?

    • PowerAde

      July 20, 2016 at 5:22 pm

geez, wouldnt go boak, burgs or hill. how much cash left if you get hodge, gotta be better options

  15. Terry

    July 20, 2016 at 2:31 pm

Which is best Zorko and Enright or Johannsen annd Hall, Thanks

    • PowerAde

      July 20, 2016 at 5:21 pm

jj/hall only because enright fades at times

  16. Tbd

    July 20, 2016 at 3:22 pm

Best 3 ruck options if Stef is out?

    I’m thinking
    1: Grundy
    2: Jacobs
    3: Goldy

The eight starters this week are divided into three groups. Most people are going to be focused on the trio at the top, with good reason, but there is one in the last tier who could be the key to winning a tournament this week. One name immediately jumps off the page at tight end, and it isn’t the one at the top. This is always going to be the thinnest position, especially in a week with eight games, but the divisional round is particularly grisly. There might be just three usable options, regardless of whether you’re looking at cash games or GPPs.
