    Round 23 Score:2183
    League Results:LL
Norm Smith Medallist: I’ll give it to Beams so he can stick it up his bum
Other Studs:Roo, Rocky, Jimbob, Hibbo, Stants, GAJ, Pendle, Libba
DT Duds:MickyB, Leuy, Enright, SJ(c), JJK, Cannon(failed POD), Heath Shaw (gets B&F for same reason Beamer got NS) and Beamer of course.
Vent/Brag/Whatever: got beaten fairly and squarely in one GF but got beaten in one where the other guy had f**ken rooks on the ground and got so freakin lucky FMDT

DT Duds: SJ (C) Griffin, Barlow, Enright, HarrY-OLO, Mckenzie
Managed to finish the season ranked 51 overall really happy with that although looking back on things it could have been much higher.

Beams to Griffin last week instead of Scooter hurt me, trading in the cannon and harry O this week didnt help either.

On a side not? Anyone know the highest ever DT score? The guy who got 2698 this week must be close to the record….

    Holy F***.

    Team Name: Mighty Drongos:
League Results: The Cup (in my only league)
Norm Smith Medallist: All hail Joey Montagna (why didn’t I have him as captain?)
Other Studs: Rocky, Scooter, Gazza, Pendles, Cox, NRoo & Bartell (unfortunately on the bench)
DT Duds: My entire backline, except for Goddard and perhaps Gibbs, ie. Enright, Shaw, Duffield, Hanley, O’Brien & Clisby (221 points from the 6 of them). Apart from them, the lowest on-field score was Goldy’s 82.
Vent/Brag/Whatever: Who says I can’t perform under pressure. My season’s best 2 weeks came in the last 2 weeks – 2,460 last week and 2,370 in the gf. If only I had Bartell on the filed and Joey as captain.

My final overall ranking was 3,224th.

Thanks to all the team at DT Talk for their service this year. Without them, I wouldn’t be in the position that I finished in.

A big congrats to Hooks Hooligans for winning overall bragging rights and to Miesy’s Masters!! for winning the schools competition.

As for the Brany Bulls, a cold beer, a massage and a trip overseas before coming back in the summer for an intense preseason.

    September 1, 2013 at 9:28 pm

got 2532, i would of had a massive score if it wasn’t for my shit backline
i will finish inside the top 6k, probably inside the top 5k if i go up in rankings so im pretty happy with my year

on a side note is anyone else pissed off about the final being played at symonds stadium, im a docker supporter so im going to be biased but i thought the finals were meant to be in front of big crowds, the excuse of it being played their coz its geelongs home ground and they should be rewarded for finishing 2nd is bullshit. The dockers don’t train at patersons they train at fremantle oval but we play all our home games at patersons to get bigger crowds. Also if its about rewarding teams for finishing higher then if a non-victorian team finishes top and makes it to the grand finale doesn’t that mean it should be played at their home ground? NO coz finals are about getting bigger crowds

would love to get someones opinion on this who is neither a geelong, freo or west coast supporter (just coz eagle fans will practically geelong fans now)

    • Matt

      September 1, 2013 at 10:50 pm

Stop complaining man. I’m an eagles supporter but I’m barracking dockers for the finals. What you’re saying though is absolute bullshit.
Why the f**k should Geelong have to come to Freo’s home ground if they finished 2nd and Freo finished 3rd? If Freo had finished 2nd then it’d be at Paterson’s. So no I’m not pissed off and you’re argument is completely invalid. And besides the only time they play a grand final somewhere sometimes away from the home side is because it’s tradition and you’re always going to get a massive crowd in the GF. Don’t be so f**king ignorant and stupid.

      • Matt

        September 2, 2013 at 1:52 am

I’m an eagles supporter and won’t be going for Freo, I think it’s pretty ordinary decision to play at Symmonds considering Etihad is available but no point complaining about it. Is what it is…. Don’t start using the Symmonds stadium decision as an excuse if Freo lose.

      • Ticonderous

        September 2, 2013 at 1:55 am

Having a home final is just that a home final, Geelong have a home ground which by way is not the MCG, so good on the AFL for having the balls to finally give the cats a real home final… By the way i am a swans supporter and our home finals are not at the SCG ??? Strange hey

        • Sphincter

          September 2, 2013 at 1:55 pm

Any Freo supporters whinging about the game being played at Simmonds need a head check, finish in the top 2 and you wont have to worry about not getting a home final Geelong finished top 2 therefore deserve a home final you have been brain-washed by the retarded media over here in WA. So your saying if you finished top 2 and the afl made you play your home final in Port Hedland you wouldnt care? BTW im not an eagles fan but i hope you whining Freo fans get put out in straight sets in the finals and i hope you never win a premiership. you dont deserve one with the attitude you have.

          • qwert

            September 2, 2013 at 10:39 pm

interesting u say if we finish top 2 then we wouldn’t have to worry about it
if the dockers lost and played in the elimination final their was talk about them playing their home final at the mcg because the afl didn’t get their shit together and theirs a rugby game being played at patersons on the same day. luckily thats sorted out and wont happen

BOTTOM LINE: im not trying to make an excuse for the dockers, im not saying geelong dont deserve a home final at symonds
my point is the afl need to be more consistant with their decisions

        • qwert

          September 2, 2013 at 10:18 pm

the afl is all melbourne based, they only give a f**k about the victorian clubs, that’s a good point about the swans not playing at the SCG, it’s coz ANZ stadium holds more people for a bigger crowd, just like etihad and mcg hold more then symonds

      • qwert

        September 2, 2013 at 10:29 pm

i never said they should play at patersons, they should play at etihad or mcg
plus your comment about tradition just proves my point more, its been a tradition to play at the ground that holds more people, thats why sydney play at anz and the melbourne clubs that train at etihad still play their home finals at the mcg
symonds holds what? around 34k? their will be no general public that are able to go to the game, it will be all geelong members

Vent/Brag/Whatever: Had Birchall covering for Scotland. Then Harry O, who I brought in this week, has the bloody sniffles. Had a shot of winning a couple of other GFs but Beams had to stink it up. My other big inclusion was Jobe who also stunk it up. Shit week.

Just quickly – thanks heaps to all the writers at DT Talk and anyone who helped me in the comments section. start of the season was a struggle getting to know DT and break evens and all that, but I have come to really enjoy it. I’m sure it wouldn’t have been nearly as fun without all the help I received.

Cheers, really appreciate all your work.

    League Results:WWLWL
    Norm Smith Medallist: Montagna
Other Studs: Ellis, Pendles, GAJ, plus the other usual suspects
DT Duds: Leeuie (stuck with you all year and you do this to me!), Enright, Griffen, Barlow, Beams (Beams!). Needed 30 more points to win all of my GFs. Oh well.
Vent/Brag/Whatever: Stupid umpires that can’t see that dragging the ball beneath you in your defending goal-square with 10 seconds left and then lying in on it holding the damn ball!!! (Chappie your a legend, but I’m looking in your direction mate!). Also a special vent for the Lions board who look to have sacked their coach so that they can replace him with gun coach…um average coach…um any coach?!

Anyway, finished 302nd overall, which is vastly higher than any previous finish (and considering I was tracking around the 20k mark until near the byes – need to start better next year). Having 2 trades per week to assuage my itchy trigger finger was a massive help, as of course was all the work for the DTTALK boys. Thanks a lot for a season full of great articles! See you next year.
