Dayne Beams: Deck of Dream Team 2011

Dayne Beams came to play in 2010 and rode the train with the rest of the Magpie boys as they improved mega. He averaged a nice 87 for the season and 97.2 in his last 5 games of 2010. Bryce Gibbs improved is average of 87 in his second year to a whopping 107. Can Dayne Beams do the same?

Name: Dayne Beams
Club: Collingwood
Position: Midfield
Bye Rounds: 7 & 13
2010 Average: 87.0
2010 Games Played: 21
Predicted Average: 93

Why should I pick him? Dayne Beams came to play in 2010 and rode the train with the rest of the Magpie boys as they improved mega. He averaged a nice 87 for the season and 97.2 in his last 5 games of 2010. 53% of his scores were 90+ and another positive note is that Collingwood are the 2nd team to get ALL their byes out of the way (behind GC), so after Round 13 you can sit back hassle free. But the main reason you should be considering this guy is because he is another one of these 3rd year players.

Why shouldn’t I pick him? Maybe he’s peaked. Maybe he rode the Collingwood train last year and has already had his break out year… It’s a tough call for someone like this. He already averaged 76 and then bumped that to 87 last year. I’m doubting that he can get any better… or can he?

Deck of DT Rating. KING – Bryce Gibbs had a huge 2nd year as well, he too finished the year on an average of 87 and then went to 107 in his 3rd year. I’m not saying that Dayne is in the class of Bryce, but Dayne is a mile down the line for a tag and should be considered.
